Project 03 / 2021
Stage of Plastic Dreams
Spatial sound / virtual performance / collaborative environment

How can people share a performance without sharing a physical room?
Developed during the pandemic, the project created a virtual venue with spatial sound and interactive objects. I performed live electronics as Fosil with afterwork and adapted the music to a room that existed only in software.

Virtual architecture
The venue was designed as software. Spatial audio helped give the room scale, direction and a sense of distance that could not be experienced through a conventional stream.
Distributed presence
Participants joined from different locations but occupied the same virtual event. Sound and interactive objects shaped how they moved through the shared environment.
Performance
Rather than reproducing a physical stage online, the work treated the virtual room as its own acoustic and social condition.
